I got this idea after hearing about a lady who blogged about her 49 before 50 list when she turned 49. I feel I've got it a little easier since I've got 5 whole years before I need to complete my list. She only has one year.
To pass the time during our commute to and from the lake last weekend, I decided to start on my 50:
1. Skydive
2. Hike the Grand Canyon
3. Swim with Manta Rays
4. Wake Surf
5. Raft the Colorado River
6. Zorb Down a hill
7. Shoot a gun
8. Learn how to water color - Brian says, didn't you learn that in 2nd grade?
9. Watch a total eclipse - Is there one in the next 5 years?
10. Golf Troon
11. Have a past life reading
12. Hike the Camino Del Inca
13. Take my kids to see the Blue Angels
14. Take a sailing class
15. Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga class - If you know me, and how much I yoga, it's hard to believe I haven't done this yet.
16. Learn how to drive a motorcycle
17. Mechanical Bull Ride
18. Salt River Tubing
19.
You'll notice that my list doesn't include too many exotic locations except for maybe #12 in Peru. I didn't want to feel obligated to travel somewhere to check off something from my list. I wish I had the money to have that luxury. Believe me, this list would be much easier to write if money were no object.
The beauty about making this list is that I can actually go through my ideas and say "No, I did that already....that, too...check!" Yes, I can confidently say that I've done a lot in my 45 years even without a list to check off. That makes being 45 pretty satisfying.
Feel free to chime in with any ideas!
